The control displays a calendar: a grid containing the numbered days of the month, arranged in columns underneath the days of the week, with the selected range of dates highlighted. Microsoft is not extending the Mainstream Support phase for Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 in any way. The Windows Forms MonthCalendar control presents an intuitive graphical interface for users to view and set date information. Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 has transitioned to Extended Support which runs through March 31, 2008. However, we are releasing this non-security related package because it contains improvements that were ready for release just prior to the end of Mainstream Support. For instance, the WeekViewAppearance.CellHeaderCaption property specifies how a day cell’s header is painted within a View of the MonthView type. Mainstream Support for Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 ended on March 31, 2005. The MonthViewAppearance object returned by the Appearance property provides a number of properties which allow the appearances assigned to MonthView elements to be accessed. The monthview control in a file we use regularly is no longer there, and just displays as a big.

I have seen some addins and stand alone code that are similar and claim to be 64bit compliant but that is ok if it is just for your own use else you will have to make sure everyone has the addin. The MonthViewAppearance object returned by the Appearance property provides a number of properties which allow the appearances assigned to MonthView elements to be accessed. I had to rename it to match the old calendar control. With the Microsoft control as far as I know yes. When I reopened my database, I had access to the Microsoft MonthView 6.0 Control and was able to place it in my forms.

This package will not install these Common Controls if they do not already exist on the target system. I took the calendar control drive MSCAL.OCX, and placed it in both the system 32 folder and the office 12 folder on the upgraded system. This package updates two Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls: mscomctl.ocx and comctl32.ocx to address the issues described in the KB articles noted in the Related Resources section on this page.
